Patrick Duke |
Patrick
Michael Duke was awarded the Jim Bonfield Memorial
Scholarship in May, 2004 at Downers Grove North. During his
four years in high school, Patrick demonstrated a work ethic
and dedication to goals that earned him the admiration of
adults. He is an exceptionally committed, mature and
responsible young man with great organizational skills and
focus, his counselor said. Patrick volunteered his time in
the guidance office while also earning a spot on the varsity
cross country and track teams. He learned to believe in the
power of a group in sports. I have made it my
responsibility to keep our team united, making sure we cheer
our loudest for those at the line
everyone can see our team
is like a family. He will attend Carthage College where he
plans to major in business and minor in Psychology. |

Joseph Budlovsky |
Joseph
Michael Budlovsky credits Coach Jim Bonfield with teaching
him to handle life through the lessons of the football
practice field. I used to think I was never good enough or
I had just to little to do what I wanted
I no longer have
that fear. Im brave, and I take on any adversity thrown my
way. Joseph not only played football for four years at
Downers Grove South, he found time to work with younger
players, volunteer at a retirement home, participate in
local food drives. Persistent effort is the phrase one of
his teachers uses to describe him. Joe plans to complete
two years of study at the College of DuPage and then pursue
software design at a four-year university. Joseph is the
Downers Grove South 2004 recipient of the Jim Bonfield
Memorial Scholarship. |
